Chainmail plus size leggings, maille armor chausses, sustainable fashion ethically made in the USA with fabric derived from plastic water bottles.
Our Chausses leggings are based on 12th century maille (colloquially, chainmail) leg defenses. Not many tangible examples of armor from this time still survives, but this design is based off of manuscript illustrations of the period that featured an open back tied to the leg, rather than the stocking variation that is commonly seen. A layer of linked chain rings was layered over a leather backing, then likely fastened to a belt around the waist to stay suspended.
Our model is 5'9 and wearing a size 1X.
