How to Make a Rope Handle - Sailing Chandlery

By A Mystery Man Writer

How To Make A Rope Handle Rope handles are great if you want a bit more grip on control lines, or if you want something larger to grab hold of during your next on the water manoeuvre. Rope handles are very simple and quick to make, here are some simple steps to follow. Step 1 Set your control line to its slackest setting that you will use whilst sailing. This is so you know how much rope you have for your handle and your furthest out position will be at the knot. Step 2 Create a slip knot about 5cm from the cleat that the rope goes through. Create a loop then fold the free end over and push t through a few centimetres.  Pull the two ropes with arrows tight before creating the next loop. Step 3 About 5cm down from the slip knot push
