This vintage brass Paan Daan is a traditional box for storing beetle leaves and condiments, handcrafted by artisans from the South of India. The paan daan has a removable tray with 5 round and rectangular bowls for the condiments, the base of the box for storing the bettle leaves, the inside lid with a small round container for the "Chuna". The compartments are meant for the traditional condiments that go into making of the paan like cardomom, sukhi or meethi supari , kathaa, cloves and sometimes Tambaku and the beetle nut leaves or paan leaves are normally kept under this tray to keep them fresh.
