Sifting through the rubble of a ruined world and putting the pieces on display. Why hide the lie? You get the sense from the music that Thunraz think that filth and decay might be the only lasting testament to humanity’s existence — because the music is absolutely desolating. The riffing comes in mangling, abrasive swarms; the bass rhythmically clangs like girders; something hideous seems to be undulating even further down below; and both the cold-hearted gutturals and the hair-raising shrieks are horrifying. - No Clean Singing Revelation takes the form of a massive beast that will not stop before all things that are good disappear from the world with Thunraz the very conductor of that apocalypse without so much as an ounce of sympathy in any of its motions. - Headbanger Reviews The guitar work is disjointed, chaotic and punishing while also being impressively technical at the same time. These guitars are a major driving force for the album, leading tracks from segments of utter dissonant chaos to subtly groovy technical jam style segments and everything in between. - Cavedweller Music Revelation, Thunraz's second album, is like if Assuck got super into then-contemporary Czech and Polish death metal. That is to say, Jalakas has Steve Heritage's throat-searing roar and gears-of-the-machine riffs. But there's a wild experimental streak running through Revelation that reminds me of Appalling Spawn, Contrastic, and Non Opus Dei, and the like. - Plague Rages The guitars have a knack to be overwhelmingly chaotic and dissonant at times. The compositions are drenched in nihilism and show a great deal of depth.
