Trendy thrift store in Harrisonburg hosts student nights for JMU organizations Plato’s Closet is partnering with the JMU community, giving sororities and other groups a large place to gather for fun and social distancing. The popular thrift store is very open to the opportunity to pair with any club, sorority, or group that is looking for a platform for any type of event. In the past, they've done some sorority events in the evenings where it’s a private event just for them. Some events have been catered and have provided exclusive discounts and benefits that can be used for the remainder of the semester. To help support the local economy, community building, and the reuse of clothing, Plato's Closet offers JMU students an opportunity for deals and discounts. Thursdays they offer a student ID discount so if any student in the area has an ID, they can get 15% off on those days. The store is quite active on social media, constantly messaging back and forth and promoting deals on Instagram.
